About Christina

Christina Vittas offers holistic nutrition and health coaching with an emphasis on plant-based nutrition and the incorporation of more wholesome, natural foods into one’s diet in order to achieve better health.

Christina graduated summa cum laude from New York University (NYU) and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa in 2011. She is a graduate of the Ann Wigmore Natural Health Institute and has extensively studied the healing effects of raw living foods on chronic disease under the tutelage of several of the world’s foremost nutritional experts. Christina is currently studying at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition.

Having spent time at the Ann Wigmore Natural Health Institute in Puerto Rico, first as a student and then as a volunteer, she was amazed by the incredibly fast transformations she saw in people, many of whom had terminal illnesses, following a strict raw foods diet. She then traveled to Colombia where she had the great fortune to speak with shamans in the Amazon jungle and observe their healing rituals, most of which consisted of the sick person consuming a concoction made entirely from local flora while the shaman would chant and remove negative energies and entities using his renowned healing hands. She had similar experiences traveling in Botswana and Namibia, where she observed the healing rituals of a tribe of bushmen and then of a nomadic tribe originating from Angola. Spending nearly 2 months in three ashrams in the past year, she was able to speak extensively with an Ayurvedic doctor whose methods seemed to help, even cure, a number of people’s ailments, both physical and emotional. She also spoke repeatedly with a yoga guru who told her about the great healing capacity of yoga and meditation, and the drastic improvements he had witnessed in his sixty years of teaching. In Thailand, she studied for a week with a woman who runs a wellness clinic with an emphasis on juice fasting, on the island of Koh Samui. She taught Christina about the ways in which the body accumulates poisons and its need to detox, and she spoke of her beliefs in juice fasting as the best means to drain cellular waste and strengthen the immune system. All of these experiences piqued Christina’s pre-existing interest in healing and inspired in her a profound desire to understand how and why these alternative methods of healing seem to work. It should be noted that in none of these experiences were any modern-day pharmaceutical drugs used. She has been to several other “healing villages” around the world and is continuously amazed by that which she encounters.

Christina believes in supporting the body’s natural and innate ability to heal itself, and has spent a great deal of time traveling the world–throughout more than 50 countries on 6 continents–in order to learn first-hand about the different natural modalities used to heal in various cultures. Christina is tremendously passionate about health and wellness, and genuinely loves working with others to educate them and help them achieve their own optimal health, vitality, and happiness.
